Superior Energy in the Media

This Day Went to the Dogs …and Cats”…“Tails wagged and swayed with joy at the Pet Adoption Event held mid-fall in Ellington. There were a lot of happy human faces too as 15 cats and nine dogs attracted forever owners among the animal-lovers of all ages who attended the annual event. Cats, kittens, puppies, and adult dogs — all found homes before the day was over…The event also took in much needed supplies: towels, blankets, peanut butter, pet toys, and pet food brought by guests. Over $6,000 was donated to the CT Humane Society from matching Lemonade Stands funds. In addition, Superior Energy LLC of Vernon, a key sponsor of the event, donated $5,000 and $1,200 was donated by Somers Veterinary Hospital.” - North Central News, November 2019

“WOMEN IN PROPANE: SERVICE TECH “SAM” BASSETT A RARITY…“I was just going to do it temporarily until I found a job in the electrical field, but that never happened.” She stayed at the small company primarily working with residential customers for six years before joining Superior Energy about 18 months ago.
The family-owned propane company based in Vernon, Conn., is one of the leading propane companies in Connecticut and parts of southern Massachusetts. Founded in 1939, today the company not only distributes propane, but also specializes in space heating equipment, fireplaces, gas fire logs, and temporary construction equipment. They tout hiring employees like Sam who live in, and are familiar with, the communities they serve, and provide them with opportunities to continue their training, even paying for schooling and all certifications.” -

“ADAPTING TO THE CHANGING WORLD: NEVER STOP LEARNING”80 YEARS, MANY CHANGES - Alan is the fourth person to lead the family-owned and -operated business. The company was founded in 1939 by his grandmother, Sarah Friedman. Sarah, her husband Max, along with six kids (youngest son Harry was born later) immigrated to the U.S. from Europe to work as farmers. She spoke little English but knew a business opportunity when she saw one. Needing propane for the family farm, she decided to buy the propane in bulk and sell the excess to other local farmers. Thus, the company was founded as Superior Propane Inc. in Ellington, Conn.” - Butane-Propane News, August 2019
