Pool Heater FAQs

Q. HOW LONG WILL THE INSTALLATION TAKE?

The average installation time is 2 - 3 hours.

Q. HOW LONG WILL THE TANK LAST?

100 gallons of propane will last approximately 25 - 30 hours of run time.

Q. HOW LARGE IS THE TANK?

A 100 gallon tank measures approximately 55" tall by 30" wide and is above ground.

Q. WHERE IS THE TANK NORMALLY LOCATED?

The tank is normally located 10' from the pool heater and no more than 100' from the driveway, or an area where a delivery truck can stop so the delivery hose can reach for filling the tank.

Q. ARE THERE ANY PERMITS REQUIRED TO INSTALL THE POOL HEATER?

There is 1 permit required to install your heater. You will need a gas permit to install gas piping.  This permit is requested from the local Building Department and an inspection will follow. Superior Energy will obtain all permits.

Q. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO RUN THE POOL HEATER?

Usually, pool heaters are run in the morning for a couple of hours to take the chill off, and then the sun will take over.  The best way to minimize the use of the heater is to use a solar blanket when the pool is not in use.

Q. HOW DO I RECEIVE DELIVERIES?

Call our office's toll-free number   when the gauge on the tank reads 30%.  Our Superior Energy representative will instruct you on how to read the gauge and your delivery will follow within 48 hours.   You will receive a metered receipt for the delivery and a request for payment will be mailed.

Q. IS THERE ANY MAINTENANCE REQUIRED FOR MY NEW POOL HEATER?

Propane is a very clean burning fuel and normally will be problem-free, but we suggest a yearly inspection because the heater is located outside.  An appointment can be scheduled through our Service Department.

Superior Energy knows you will enjoy the extended use of your pool and we will always be there for service whenever the need may arise.  We take pride in our craftsmanship and impeccable service, which will give you peace of mind when choosing Superior Energy as your propane supplier.
