Since 1953, The Vernon Fire Department’s Toys for Tikes program has been an incredible tradition bringing joy to Vernon families — and this year, it mattered more than ever.
The program faced an unprecedented surge in 2025. Last year, toys were delivered to 250 children. This year, that number has nearly doubled to 499 children.
It was the 72nd year Vernon firefighters carried out their Toys for Tikes program. Thankfully local residents and businesses rose to the occasion.
The Town of Vernon Fire Department was able to deliver toys to nearly 500 children, a near 100% increase over last year.
